Fresh from her longtime engagement on a garage door, the Virgin Mary has now appeared on a living room wall after a construction mishap. Pessimistic Phil Plait from Bad Astronomy thinks it looks a little more like the Grim Reaper.
Me, I’m still fascinated by how the family in question seems to think that this is a form of communication (emphasis mine):
“I feel like it’s telling us something, like it’s protecting us,” Quintana said. “It’s like a miracle.”
Generally, when I want to tell people something, I try do it with nice, simple words. Not horrendously out of focus photographs of my head.

I am always at a loss to understand why I should be reassured to find God leaving me images in living room walls, toast , or freeway underpasses. Quite frankly, I’m scared to death of a God who would leave such ridiculous and cheesy ’signs’.
On the other hand, this is truly a miraculous occurrence!
